The Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse 2 is currently an unannounced phone. Besides its immediate relation to the J3 family, the Galaxy J3 Eclipse 2 had already been rumored to be on its way to Verizon as model SM-J337V. AndroidHeadlines can now confirm this does seem to be the case as the render shown above has been provided by a reliable source and is said to be of the Galaxy J3 Eclipse 2. Besides the render no additional information was provided and therefore it still remain unclear what the pricing of the Galaxy J3 Eclipse 2 will be, or for that matter, what its exact specifications are. Although it is worth noting the renders does show June 28, and therefore it could be the case this phone launches and/or becomes available then, if not before.
While the finer details on the Galaxy J3 Eclipse 2 are still unknown, there are plenty of indications of what potential buyers can expect. For example, Samsung is expected to unveil 2018 models for a number of J-series devices soon including a new J3 phone for 2018 – a recent report has suggested Samsung might launch four J-branded phones this month. Last year’s Galaxy J3 smartphone came with the SM-J327 model number attached and therefore it seems to be almost a given the SM-J337V will simply be a Verizon variant of the standard Galaxy J3 (2018), as was the case with the SM-J327V — otherwise known as the original Galaxy J3 Eclipse. When compared to last year’s Galaxy J3 Eclipse model, there does not seem much in the way of design changes. At least not based on the front of the device.
As for the specs, it is expected very little will change in this department also, when compared to last year’s model. For example, recent benchmarks have pointed towards the inclusion of 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and an Exynos 7570 SoC. Largely the same specs as the Galaxy J3 Eclipse, although the processor is thought to be clocked slightly higher this time around. So while this variant is expected to arrive at Verizon, it is very likely this is what the standard Galaxy J3 (2018) will look like. It is also expected the J3 (2018) will become available through most, if not, all of the major carriers in the US, although it will likely arrive at those other carriers as different variants, along with different branding.
