Gameloft’s Dungeon Hunter MOBA has hit the Play Store, officially launching a few days ago. While the Dungeon Hunter series has typically been set in a Diablo-style action RPG genre, Gameloft has switched things up a bit and brought characters from the franchise into the competitive multiplayer arena. Though this is a MOBA game it’s not like your standard titles in the space, as it offers a single-player campaign in addition to the online PvP matches you can play against other people. That sets it apart from other MOBA games on Android and may just help it gain a little more notoriety, especially given the popularity of MOBA heavyweights like Vainglory and Arena of Valor.
While it is different in some areas of the MOBA genre it’s also very similar in that it has the same map setup you’ll find in just about every other MOBA. This is good for fans of the genre as it makes things feel familiar. PvP matches are 5v5, and characters will all have their own unique skills and power moves that you can unlock. You’ll also have items to purchase and equip along the way which you will certainly need if you want to stay competitive, as these items will boost everything from your health to your magic and attack.
In the campaign, you’ll be able to face off against huge raid bosses, and it’ll likely acquaint players with the MOBA genre in general as well as the unique aspects of Dungeon Hunter Champions, and perhaps prepare them for the chaos that can ensue in a PvP match. Like most Gameloft games these days Dungeon Hunter Champions is free to play, but there will be in-app purchases so it’s good to keep that in mind. That said they shouldn’t be mandatory at any point but they could give players an edge. If you’re looking to give Dungeon Hunter Champions a try, you can grab the game from the button below.
