HMD Global has started sending out invites for its May 29 event which will be hosted in Moscow, Russia. If you take a look at the provided image, you will be able to see the invites, and even though the company does not mention any specific devices on it, the Nokia 2, 3 and 5 (2018) are expected to launch during that event. The invite does, however, mentioned that the company’s CEO (Florian Seiche), CMO (Pekka Rantala), and CPO (Juho Sarvikas) will all be present at the event.
This invite does confirm new phones are coming, though, even though it’s not as specific. The invite reads: “Dear friends. We invite you to worldwide premiere of new Nokia phones”, which not only confirms that these devices will be completely new, but it also points to a fact that we’ll see several new devices, hence the Nokia 2, 3 and 5 (2018) guess. It is also worth noting that the Nokia TA-1075, TA-1105, and TA-1116 have been certified in Russia recently, which also suggests that we’ll see three new devices announced on May 29. Unfortunately, no Nokia 2, 3 or 5 (2018) details surfaced, so we don’t know what exactly to expect in terms of the design and specs, but it’s worth noting that all three of these devices will be budget smartphones, and the Nokia 5 will be the most powerful and most expensive out of the bunch.
HMD Global already sells quite a few Nokia-branded devices in Russia, all 2018 phones are available except the Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 8110 4G. For those of you who do not know, it is worth saying that HMD Global promised that the company’s upcoming devices will ship with stock Android, as Nokia is a part of Google’s Android One project. Nokia announced that back in February, when the company introduced several new Android One devices, including the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, and the Nokia 8 Sirocco, the first two are already available in Russia. These devices, that will be introduced in Russia on May 29, will probably make their way to a number of other markets across Europe, in case you were wondering.
