Larger Xiaomi Mi 8 Variant To Sport A 6.2-Inch Display: Leak

Xiaomi had confirmed recently that the Mi 8 flagship will be launching on May 31, and the phone’s alleged spec sheet has just surfaced. If you take a look at the image down below, you will be a piece of paper with Xiaomi Mi 8’s partial spec sheet written on it. Truth be said, this leak does seem somewhat sketchy, so do take the provided info with a grain of salt, as it usually goes with such leaks.

The provided image claims that the Mi 8 will sport a 6.2-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) IPS LCD display, which may be accurate if Xiaomi plans to release more than one Mi 8 variant, as the regular Mi 8 model will hardly have a larger display than the Mi MIX 2S. The Xiaomi Mi 6 and its predecessors were extremely compact, and it’s hard to believe that Xiaomi would increase its display size by 1.1 inches just like that, despite thinner bezels. So, all in all, this could be the Mi 8 Plus, which would not be that surprising as the Mi 8’s front panel surfaced in two sizes quite recently. The leaked image also claims that the phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, as expected, and that it will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. 20-megapixel (f/2.0 aperture) and 16-megapixel (f/1.7 aperture) cameras will be included on the back of the device, and a 16-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) will be included on the phone’s front side.

The leaked image also claims that the device will pack in 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage, even though the phone will probably arrive in more than one variant. A 3,300mAh battery will also be included in the package if the leaked info is to be believed, and the phone will weigh 172 grams according to the image. The Xiaomi Mi 8 is also rumored to sport 3D facial scanning, similar to the iPhone X, which means that it will probably ship with a rather wide notch, as leaks have been suggesting for a while now. MIUI 10 will almost certainly come pre-installed on the Mi 8, as Xiaomi confirmed that it will be launching on May 31, just like the Mi 8.
