Nexon’s MapleStory M pre-registration has now gone live on the Play Store, letting anyone who has been a fan of the MMO series sign up through Google Play to be notified for the game once it goes live for installation globally. Nexon doesn’t mention the exact launch date for global regions, just that it will be later this year and that the U.S. will be one of the launch regions where players can expect to get their hands on it. That said, the game has already soft-launched in Canada, New Zealand, Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines as of May 28, so if you live in those regions you can already start playing.
While pre-registration does give interested players a chance to be some of the first to know about when the game is launching officially, it’s not just about getting the early information on the launch. There are pre-registration gifts that will be rewarded to those who do pre-register through the Play Store, which includes cosmetic items like costumes, as well as other in-game items like equipment and possibly even in-game currency. Beyond the in-game items that players will get, Nexon is also hosting some giveaways for those who share the new MapleStory M trailer on social media, with prizes going to five winners, those prizes being a new Galaxy S9 or iPhone X. To win, people will need to tweet the trailer as well as share it across social media channels like Facebook and others. Nexon doesn’t state whether or not there is a required amount of shares, but a safe bet would be to share it anywhere possible.
There will be loads of features to look forward to with this new game launch including “reliving MapleStory on mobile” in addition to things like engaging with other players in real-time events, creating or joining guilds to play with friends and meet new people who also love the game, and even joining up to ten players for larger battles. MapleStory M will be a free-to-play game though there will be IAPs should players want to spend money on certain things.
