Xiaomi had confirmed that a new version of its Android skin, MIUI 10, will launch on May 31, and now some screenshots leaked revealing the design of MIUI 10. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you will see a UI that is considerably different than MIUI 9, as it looks much more like stock Android. Now, if Xiaomi opts to do this, it would be a rather significant change compared to MIUI 9, and quite probably the biggest change to MIUI in years.
As you can see, this UI is using black and white colors, for the most part, and its volume controls are now different as well, as they not only look different in the UI, but if you hit volume up or down buttons, volume controls will pop-up on the right side of the display, as they do in Android P. Circular theme is also present throughout the UI, which is also quite similar to what Android P is bringing to the table. The multitasking menu is yet another part of the UI that was revamped here, as it now offers app cards in two vertical columns, compared to a single horizontal column, which is the case in MIUI 9. Gesture controls which have been present in MIUI 9 will make an appearance in MIUI 10 as well, according to a report, and performance will also be boosted in MIUI 10.
Now, according to the leaked info, Xiaomi is planning to update a ton of phones to MIUI 10, as expected. The following devices will get the update: Xiaomi Mi 6, Mi 5, Mi 5S, Mi 5S Plus, Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi 4s, Mi 4c, Mi MIX, Mi MIX 2, Redmi Y1/Lite, Mi Note 2, Mi Note 3, Redmi Note 3/Pro, Redmi Note 4/ 4X, Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 5A, Mi 5X, Mi Max, Mi Max 2, Redmi 4/4X, Redmi 4A, Redmi 3/3s/Prime, Redmi Pro, Redmi 3X, Mi Pad 3, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi S2, Mi 6X, and the Mi MIX 2S. This is actually a Chinese version of MIUI 10 that leaked, but a global build will probably be quite similar to it, if not identical-looking, as it was the case in the past. MIUI 10 will probably come pre-installed on the Mi 8 which will launch on May 31, while other phones will get the update in the following months, though a global build probably won’t be ready for another couple of months.
