A couple of days ago, Lenovo’s VP, Chang Cheng, had released a teaser for the company’s upcoming ‘bezel-less’ handset, and a new teaser has just landed from the same source. Mr. Cheng has published yet another image on his official Weibo (Chinese social network) page, and as you can see, this seems to be a sketch of the upcoming smartphone. Now, the phone actually seems to sport a 100-percent screen to body ratio in this image, as there are not visible bezels on the sides, only the phone’s frame, but chances are it will not be a fully bezel-less handset.
The company’s VP said a couple of days ago that the device will have a 95-percent screen to body ratio, or higher, he wasn’t all that specific, so all we can do is wait in order to see how thin will its bezels be. The device is expected to arrive on June 14, at least that’s what reports are saying based on the first teaser image that was published, as that image was cut off right down the middle and numbers “14” and “6” were left standing. In any case, Mr. Cheng claims that Lenovo will use 18 of its unique patented technologies to make this phone a reality, and as you can see, the phone will sport a frame made out of metal. We’re still not sure if this will be a metal unibody handset, or will Lenovo opt to include glass on the back, though. A Type-C port will be included on the bottom of the device, and it seems like no buttons will sit on the left, which probably means its power / lock, volume up and volume down keys will be located on the right.
Lenovo has been really quiet when it comes to smartphone launches in the next year or so, but it seems like the Lenovo Z5 could make a difference for the company. Lenovo was focused on budget phones for a long time now, and very few people expected the company to come up with a high-end device, well, the Lenovo Z5 may be just it. Based on its design along, it’s obvious that Lenovo wants to attract attention with this device, so chances are that the company will include really solid specs on the inside. Spec info did not leak, but we’re presuming that the Snapdragon 845 will fuel this smartphone, while the phone will probably ship with at least 6GB of RAM on the inside. Android Oreo is expected to come pre-installed on the phone, while it remains to be seen if the device will sport an in-display fingerprint scanner, or will that sensor be included on its back.
