OPPO has just announced a new variant of its R15 smartphone in China, the OPPO R15 Nebula Special Edition is its official name. This phone is the same as the OPPO R15 when it comes to specifications, but it comes with a different paint job, even though the design is the same in general. If you take a look at the back of this phone, you will notice that it sports gradient colors, including blue, purple, dark pink and red, at least based on the provided image, though red and blue are most pronounced. In addition to that, OPPO’s logo on the back is gold-colored, while this phone was designed by OPPO and an Egyptian industrial designer, Karim Rashid, whose signature has been added on the back of the device as well.
OPPO did not clarify whether it added some additional wallpapers on the inside, or something of the sort, but you should expect to see a rather similar software to the one included on the OPPO R15, if not a completely identical build. Having said that, this phone is priced at 2,999 Yuan ($470) in China, but you can also get a “Gift Box” edition, which includes Nebula Edition earphones, that variant will cost you 3,199 Yuan ($501) in the country. This phone is already available for purchase in China, in case you were wondering, and it can be purchased directly from OPPO (source link down below). The OPPO R15 Nebula Special Edition is made out of metal and glass, just like its R15 sibling. It comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a dual camera setup on the back. This smartphone also includes a display notch, while its power / lock key sits on the right side of its body. The volume up and down buttons are included on the left, while the phone’s loudspeaker and a Type-C USB port can be found on the bottom of the device.
In terms of specs, you’re getting a 6.28-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) AMOLED display, while the phone is fueled by the MediaTek Helio P60 64-bit octa-core processor. The device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage, while you will find a 3,450mAh battery on the inside. 16 and 5-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the device, while a 20-megapixel selfie camera is included on the phone’s front side. The device comes with a hybrid dual SIM setup, while Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on it, along with OPPO’s ColorOS 5.0 skin.
