OUKITEL U19 With Notch Coming Soon, Will Be Priced Around $100

OUKITEL was one of the first Android smartphone manufacturers to embrace a notch, and arguably, the first to bring to market a direct iPhone X clone in the form of the OUKITEL U18. Now the company has announced it has another notch-equipped smartphone en route, the OUKITEL U19. In spite of not having been officially launched yet, the OUKITEL U19 was on show at this year’s MWC event along with the company’s latest rugged smartphone solution, the OUKITEL WP5000.

While OUKITEL phones in general are considered to be affordable products one of the main defining differences between the OUKITEL U18 and the new OUKITEL U19 is the price. As OUKITEL states its U19 model is expected to hit the market around the $100 marker, making it one of the cheapest ways to get a notch and iPhone X lookalike Android phone. Like the previous OUKITEL U18 (and the iPhone X for that matter) the OUKITEL U19 utilizes a 5.85-inch display along with a newer aspect ratio resulting in a thinner and slimmer profile while incorporating the notch at the top of the display. Adding to its design properties, the OUKITEL U19 also features a glass back along with a rear-located fingerprint sensor.

As for the rest of the specs and features, the OUKITEL U19 is expected to arrive boasting 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and powered by a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor. Battery life comes courtesy of the included 3,600 mAh capacity battery and although this is a lesser battery capacity than what is offered with the OUKITEL U18 (another of the main differences between the two), according to the company it will be more than sufficient for an all-day level of usage. Another notable selling point is that in spite of this being a budget smartphone the OUKITEL U19 will come running on Android 8.1 (Oreo) at launch. Speaking of which, along with the rough confirmation of the $100 price point the OUKITEL U19 is said to be launching at the end of May, 2018.
