The Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite has been all over the news lately, and the device has just got certified by the 3C authority in China. Prior to this certification, the phone got certified by the FCC, TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), and it even leaked in several images, not to mention that its release date surfaced. Having said that, the alleged Galaxy S8 Lite got certified by the 3C authority as the “SM-G8750”, and the certification dates back to yesterday. This certification confirms that the phone will support 4G LTE, and it also confirms that the phone will ship with fast charging. That is pretty much all the info that the 3C authority shared.
Thanks to info that leaked prior to this, we do know that the Galaxy S8 Lite will look basically just like the Galaxy S8, but it will pack in inferior specs. The phone will be made out of metal and glass, and its Midnight Black and Burgundy colors surfaced yesterday. The phone will include a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while its bezels will be quite thin, just like the ones on the Galaxy S8. The phone will sport a 5.8-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) display, and this will probably be a Super AMOLED panel, though as you can see, less sharp than the one on the Galaxy S8. The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core SoC, if TENAA is to be believed, while the phone will include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which you’ll be able to expand using a microSD card.
A 16-megapixel camera will be included on the back of this phone, while an 8-megapixel camera will be available on its front side. The device will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, while Samsung’s custom UI will be available on top of it. A 3,000mAh battery will also be included in the package, and it will not be removable, as expected. IP68 certification will also be a part of this package, and it seems like it will also include two SIM card slots, at least in some markets. It is will unknown how much will this phone cost, but it is rumored to launch on May 21.
