Samsung has just introduced two new Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus color options, Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red variants. The Burgundy Red option was shown off in China quite recently, though back then, it was named only “red”. In any case, this announcement comes from the company’s global website, though it seems like the Burgundy Red model will not exactly be available on a global scale, which we’ll talk about in a minute.
Having said that, these two new variants are joining the Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Lilac Purple, and Coral Blue Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus variants which were announced earlier. According to Samsung, the Burgundy Red variant of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be available in Korea and China starting this month, though an official date was not shared. On the other hand, the Sunrise Gold Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus model will be available in a number of regions, including Australia, Chile, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam, and those of you who live in one of these countries and are interested in grabbing the device will be able to do so starting next month. Samsung also confirmed that the Sunrise Gold color variant will arrive in more markets in the near future, but it seems like the Burgundy Red model will not.
Now, other than the color change, these two Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus units are completely identical to its siblings. Both the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are made out of metal and glass, and even though they look almost the same, there’s one obvious differentiating factor between them, their camera setups. The Galaxy S9 sports a single camera on the back, while the Galaxy S9 Plus features two cameras back there. In addition to that, the Galaxy S9 Plus is also noticeably larger than the Galaxy S9. Depending on the market, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus handsets are fueled either by the Exynos 9810 or the Snapdragon 845 SoC, the Galaxy S9 comes with 4GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S9 Plus offers 6GB of RAM, which also makes the Galaxy S9 an inferior device in comparison.
