A mystery new smartphone has just surfaced in two new real-life images, showing off extremely thin bezels. This smartphone is reminiscent of the Vivo Apex, Vivo’s concept smartphone which was shown off at this year’s MWC, and which will become available later this year. Having said that, the device that surfaced does not have any bezels on the sides or above the display, only its frame, and its chin below the display is extremely thin, almost as thin as the rest of its bezels, much like on the Vivo Apex.
Now, these two images surfaced on Weibo (Chinese social network), and the source claims that this is also a Vivo-branded smartphone. The Vivo Apex features a 98-percent screen-to-body ratio, and this phone that you can check out in the gallery down below is not far from that, it’s actually in the ballpark. This device seems to be larger than the Vivo Apex, which means it sports a noticeably larger display. In the second image provided down below, you will see that mysterious smartphone next to the iPhone X, which will give you a better idea as to how much larger it is compared to Apple’s offering. The Vivo Apex is expected to become available later this year, and this could be yet another smartphone that Vivo is planning to release in the near future, perhaps the Vivo Apex Plus, or something of the sort.
Now, the Vivo Apex, and this mysterious new handset, are not the only two bezel-less smartphones that are expected to arrive in the near future. Lenovo has been teasing its Lenovo Z5 handset for a while now, and the company’s VP recently confirmed that the phone will arrive next month, in June. In addition to that. Mr. Cheng also hinted that it will ship with 4TB of storage, and at least a 95-percent screen-to-body ratio, while some renders of the phone were shared, along with a sketch of the device. Modern smartphones have really thin bezels, but it seems like Vivo and Lenovo are looking to push things even further, while not including the notch.
