Vivo is planning to introduce its bezel-less “NEX” smartphone(s) on June 12, three “NEX” variants just got certified in China. The Vivo NEX, NEX S and NEX A popped up on the 3C Authority website. In addition to the regular Vivo NEX, and the NEX S which was spotted several times thus far, the mysterious NEX A surfaced as well. The provided listing confirms that the three devices will support fast 5V/2A, 9V/2A, and 10V/2.25A charging over USB Type-C.
The Vivo NEX will probably be the most similar to the Vivo APEX concept smartphone which was shown off during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and that phone surfaced a couple of times thus far. That variant of the phone is expected to be the most powerful one, as it’s said to ship with the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, at least 6GB of RAM (though an 8GB RAM model is also a possibility), and an OLED display. That phone will also include a slide-out front-facing camera, and a 98-percent screen-to-body ratio. An in-display fingerprint scanner will also be a part of the package, and chances are that its display will measure 5.99 inches. The phone will likely be made out of metal and glass, though we cannot confirm that just yet. Recent benchmarks and rumors claim that the Vivo NEX S will ship with the Snapdragon 710 64-bit octa-core processor, which will make it a mid-range smartphone. The Vivo NEX S will not sport a slide-out front-facing camera, instead, its front-facing camera will be included in the bottom-right corner of the phone’s front side, while this phone will also include slightly more rounded corners than the Vivo NEX, at least if leaks are to be believed.
The Vivo NEX A is a complete mystery at this point, though it may be a China-only variant of the phone. This is the first time we’re hearing about the device, so we really don’t know what to expect. Vivo is expected to announce all three NEX variants on June 12, though it’s also possible we’ll see only one or two, who knows.
