European LG G7 ThinQ/V30 Get Bootloader Unlock Tool Support

European LG G7 ThinQ and LG V30 handsets get Bootloader Unlock Tool support from LG. The company states on the official website for the tool that those two devices have support for the European market only, but it doesn’t specify if this includes every single country where the two devices have been sold, so anyone in the European market who wishes to use LG’s tool to unlock the bootloader will simply have to give things a try. Since doing this can compromise the usability of the device if not done properly, it’s strongly recommended to make a backup of any important information before starting the whole process.

In total there are three different devices which have received support for the tool, two of which are different variations of the V30 – one for Europe and one for Europe and Africa, and the European version of the LG G7 ThinQ. The models numbers are the H930 and H930G, and then the G710EM. If you have any of these three models then you’ll be able to unlock the bootloader for your phone and proceed with further modifications if you choose to do so.

Unlocking the bootloader is not something that all users will care to do, but it will be a first step and prerequisite if you plan to do things like root your device and eventually flash custom firmware (otherwise known as ROMs) to it. Though LG has not added support to the Bootloader Unlock Tool for the LG G7 ThinQ for U.S. consumers, the support will come in due time just as it will for other regions. That being said, there’s no telling how long it will take before LG adds this support, so getting any official help from LG to unlock the bootloader will have to wait for some users for the time being.
