Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 announcement is reportedly planned for August 9 which means that Samsung would be unveiling the next device in the Note lineup earlier than it did for the Note 8 last year, though not by much as Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 8 at its Unpacked event on August 23, 2017. In addition to the announcement date it’s said that the Galaxy Note 9 will also come with a revamped camera, though no details were given about how the camera would be an upgrade from the one found on the Galaxy Note 8.
With an announcement on August 9 Samsung is also rumored to launch the Galaxy Note 9 at the end of the month according to the same report. It was also mentioned that Samsung could still change its plans on a time for the actual release of the phone, meaning when consumers can buy it in stores and online. This comes after a recent rumor that Samsung had delayed the launch of the Galaxy Note 9 by around two weeks due to a “minor redesign” with the phone. Two weeks would put the launch of the device at near the end of August, and if either of the most recent rumors regarding the Galaxy Note 9’s unveiling and official release are true than consumers should be able to get their hands on the phone before September.
In addition to an upgraded camera, which could come with different sensors than the one found on the Galaxy S9, the Galaxy Note 9 is also said to be coming with an “upgraded processor from Qualcomm,” though this could still be referencing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, and would only apply to Galaxy Note 9 devices sold in the U.S. as those sold outside the U.S. would likely come with the most up to date Exynos chip as past devices have. Though nothing has been confirmed yet from Samsung, more details could pop up before the rumored Unpacked event said to be happening on August in New York.
