The LG G7 ThinQ has received a new update in its home country, and this update brings 4K 60fps video recording to the table. Needless to say, this update will reach the G7 ThinQ units in other markets in the near future as well, probably in the coming weeks. The regular 30fps 4K video recording mode offers unlimited recording time on the G7 ThinQ, but this 60fps 4K mode does not, it is limited to 6 minutes, which is not at all surprising as many other Android handsets actually limit such recording as well.
Now, if you by some chance have the Korean model of the G7 ThinQ, and would like to enable this update at this very moment, you can do so by navigating to camera settings, and then hitting the ‘video resolution’ option. In that menu, choose ‘UHD 16:9 (60fps)’ option, and you’ll be good to go. Once other G7 ThinQ variants receive this update, that option will be located in the very same menu, needless to say. Now, 4K 60fps video recording is not the only change that this update brought to the table, according to the company’s changelog, this update also brought ‘improved sharpness when shooting in auto mode’, and a ‘Super Bright’ mode for improving images when shooting with the phone’s LED flash. On top of that, this update also brings improved rendering of the red and green colors, and a number of other improvements when it comes to stability and performance of the device itself, while bug fixes have also been included in this update.
For those of you who do not know, the G7 ThinQ was announced last month, in May, and it was released soon after it was launched. The device is available in a number of countries around the world, and we’ve already reviewed it, in case you’d like to know more about it. The LG G7 ThinQ is made out of metal and glass, and like many other devices out there, it sports a display notch. In addition to that, you’re also getting top of the line specs, including the Snapdragon 845, 4GB / 6GB of RAM, and so on.
