Designed by Hege YouTube channel has just released yet another concept design, and this new smartphone concept is called the “Samsung Oxygen”. Needless to say, this is just an imaginary smartphone, not a leak or anything of the sort. Keeping that in mind, this design is rather interesting, mainly because the phone features a slide-out display, and once that display goes to the side, underneath it, you’ll notice a full QWERTY keyboard (not physical though, we’ll talk more about it in a minute), which probably reminds some of you to the old Motorola Sidekick smartphone.
Having said that, when the display is in place, the device actually resembles the Galaxy S7 Edge quite a bit, it has a fingerprint scanner below the display, and a curved display. Interestingly enough, the designer envisioned two display stacked once beneath the other, as that QWERTY keyboard that you see underneath the top display is actually show on a display, it’s not a physical keyboard. The designer says that he envisioned two Royole displays here, as those displays are extremely thin. A curved Super AMOLED display is included on top, and an LED notification light is embedded into the display (both of them, actually), and the same goes for the phone’s sensors. There are three cameras included on the back of the Samsung Oxygen concept, and a removable 5,000mAh battery is also included in the package. The designer created Black and Silver variants of this device, and the phone itself is made out of metal.
That’s pretty much all the info that the designer has shared with us, but the video itself has been embedded down below for your convenience, and you’ll also be able to check out an image gallery, as it sits right beneath the video itself. A device like Samsung Oxygen probably won’t become a reality anytime soon, but a smartphone OEM may at some point release a phone like this, which sports a slide-out display, and a keyboard beneath it. It is an interesting concept, though, and it may seem appealing to some consumers, especially considering we don’t see that many unique designs out there these days.
