T-Mobile Now Sells The Samsung Galaxy J3 Star

The Samsung Galaxy J3 Star has just launched at T-Mobile, which is a mid-range smartphone from the world’s largest Android smartphone manufacturer, and it is priced at just $175 from T-Mobile. Or T-Mobile customers can pick it up for $7 down and $7/month for 24 months.

Samsung’s Galaxy J3 star does look somewhat similar to the J3, and that’s not a surprise since it is part of the Galaxy J3 lineup here. It sports a 5-inch HD display, powered by an Exynos 7570 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Samsung does offer up a micro SD card slot here for adding more storage, should you need it. There’s a 8-megapixel sensor around the back with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. All of this is powered by a 2600mAh capacity battery and Android 8.0 Oreo. It’s not the very latest in the spec world, but it is a pretty decent smartphone, especially for under $200. The Galaxy J3 Star does also support T-Mobile’s 600MHz band, so you’re going to get some really good coverage on this device from T-Mobile, thanks to it supporting both 600MHz and 700MHz spectrum. T-Mobile has already rolled out 600MHz spectrum in over 900 cities and counting. That makes the Galaxy J3 Star a bit more attractive than some of the other sub-$200 smartphones out there, seeing as there is only one other smartphone on T-Mobile in that price range with 600MHz support, which is the LG Aristo 2 Plus.

T-Mobile began selling the Samsung Galaxy J3 Star today, as it’s newest addition to its lineup. It’s a pretty decent phone, and at $175, it’s going to be a popular one for T-Mobile. Customers do have the option of buying it outright or financing it for as little as $7 down plus taxes. Currently, it is not available at MetroPCS, but that is likely to change in the near future.
