The upcoming Vivo NEX and NEX S were briefly listed on the company’s official website, and those listings more or less confirmed the design of the two devices, while it also shared some specs and pricing info as well. Let’s talk about the design first, though, if you take a look at the provided image, you will be able to see both phones, the flagship Vivo NEX S can be seen on the left, while the NEX sits right beside it on the right.
Now, at first glance, these two phones may seem identical to you, but if you take a look at the back of both phones, you will notice that the Vivo NEX S does not sport a fingerprint scanner back there, while the NEX has one. Also, the Vivo NEX S has a fingerprint icon on its display, while that is not the case with the Vivo NEX. The Vivo NEX S will sport a fingerprint scanner, but instead a rear-facing unit, it will arrive with an in-display fingerprint scanner which we’ve already seen in action on the Vivo APEX concept phone which the company showed off back in February at MWC 2018. The Vivo NEX S will also ship with a slide-out front-facing camera, most probably, which will not be the case with the NEX, as that phone is expected to include a regular front-facing camera which will be included in the bottom-right portion of its front side, though that part is still unconfirmed.
Now, according to the listing, the Vivo NEX will cost 9,999 Yuan ($1,560), though that’s probably just a placeholder price point, it’s hard to believe that Vivo is aiming for such high price points for the NEX devices. The Vivo NEX S will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, while it will include 8GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed on it with Vivo’s Funtouch UI, while a 6.59-inch fullHD+ display will be included as well. The phone will sport a screen-to-body ratio higher than 90 percent, that’s for sure, and it will measure 162 x 77 x 7.98mm, while a 4,000mAh battery will also be included in the package. 12 and 5-megapixel cameras will be located on its back, while a single slide-out 8-megapixel camera will be included on the front, though hidden away.
The Vivo NEX, on the other hand, will be fueled by the Snapdragon 710 64-bit octa-core SoC, while it will include 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A 6.59-inch fullHD+ display will be included on this phone as well, and the device will ship with the same 4,000mAh battery as the Vivo NEX S. The device will measure 162 x 77 x 9.8mm, and that’s pretty much all the info that we have thus far. The Vivo NEX and NEX S will be announced on June 12 in China.
