Vivo NEX S Appears On Geekbench With SD845, 8GB Of RAM

The Vivo NEX S has just surfaced on Geekbench, and it seems like this will be the flagship NEX model, not the “Vivo NEX” as initially thought. Pretty much everyone assumed that the “NEX S” will be a mid-range variant of the phone, but Geekbench claims otherwise. According to the listing, the NEX S will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core SoC, while it will pack in 8GB of RAM. Android 8.1 Oreo is also mentioned in the listing, while on top of it you’ll get Vivo’s custom UI, Funtouch OS.

The Vivo NEX S managed to score 2,419 points in the single-core test on Geekbench, while it hit 9,085 points in the multi-core test. The Vivo NEX and NEX S are expected to launch on June 12 in China, and it seems like the Vivo NEX will be a mid-range model with the Snapdragon 710, at least according to Geekbench. Now, in addition to this Geekbench listing, several new posters of the phone have surfaced, and you can check them out in the gallery down below. Rumors and leaks are claiming that the Vivo NEX and NEX S will sport a slightly different design, as the flagship NEX model will ship with a pop-up camera, similar to the one on the Vivo APEX concept phone, while the mid-range NEX phone will include a front-facing camera which will be located in the bottom-right corner of the phone. Both devices will ship with extremely thin bezels, and the flagship NEX phone will probably sport a 98-percent screen-to-body ratio, just like the Vivo APEX, or at least something close to it.

The flagship Vivo NEX handset will also ship with an in-display fingerprint scanner, and all NEX variants will be made out of metal and glass it seems. Two cameras will be placed on the back of both NEX variants, while the aforementioned Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed on both smartphones as well. The mid-range NEX phone will include less RAM than the high-end model, and the high-end Vivo NEX may ship in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, even though we’ve only seen an 8GB RAM variant thus far.
