The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite just got certified by the FCC and Singapore’s Communications Authority. The Xiaomi M1805D1SC, M1805D1SE, and M1805D1ST got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) last week (originally thought to be the upcoming Redmi Note 6), and this new handset, M1805D1SG, seems to be yet another one of those variants. This is the first time that we’ve mentioned the Mi A2 Lite name, and there’s a good reason for it, that name was mentioned by Singapore’s Communications Authority, which suggests that Xiaomi may introduce more than one Mi A2 Android One smartphone in the near future.
Having said that, it seems like this phone will look somewhat different than the Mi A2, at least according to an image that surfaced on TENAA quite recently. The back side of the device will look almost identical to the Mi 6X / Mi A2, but the Mi A2 Lite will include a display notch up top it seems, unlike the Mi A2 which is expected to retain the exact same design that the Mi 6X features. The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is expected to sport a 5.84-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The device will be fueled by a 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, while it will include 2GB, 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage, respectively. You will be able to expand the Mi A2 Lite’s storage via a microSD card slot, while Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed on the phone. A 12-megapixel camera will sit on the back of the phone, along with secondary sensor which was not mentioned on TENAA; while a single 5-megapixel camera will be included on the phone’s front side.
A 4,000mAh battery will also come as part of the Mi A2 Lite package, while the device will support 4G LTE connectivity, and also Bluetooth 5.0. An infrared sensor is said to be included in the Mi A2 Lite as well, while the device will also offer two SIM card slots (2x nano SIM, hybrid setup). The phone will measure 149..33 x 71.68 x 8.75mm, while it will weigh 178 grams. The Mi A2 Lite is expected to ship in Black, Blue, Gold, Gray, Pink, Red, Rose Gold, Silver, and White color variants.
