Another Motorola-Branded Android Phone Leaks, Lacks A Notch

Motorola is presently believed to be working on two Android smartphones that will be launching as part of its original brand instead of the “Moto” or “Moto by Lenovo” ones, though a third one may be coming as well, as indicated by a number of real-life images of an unidentified device from the company which recently emerged online. The two photographs that can be seen in the gallery below show a handset that’s visually similar to the Motorola One and Motorola One Power,  The main difference between the previously leaked phones and the newly spotted one is the look of their displays given how the latter doesn’t feature a notch, whereas the others were already depicted with sizable screen cutouts.

AndroidHeadlines exclusively reported about the existence of both the Motorola One and Motorola One Power in recent weeks, in addition to providing the first clear look at both devices in the form of their official renders. The handsets are expected to be introduced as part of Google’s Android One program, i.e. run a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and be sold alongside a promise of frequent software updates, something the Lenovo-owned original equipment manufacturer struggled with in the past. The newly leaked device also appears to be lacking Android One branding, though it still features a glass sandwich aesthetic that both the Motorola One and Motorola One Power are believed to be adopting. A dual-camera setup also appears to be part of the package, accompanied by a dual-LED (dual-tone) flash unit.

Provided that the handset isn’t a highly experimental prototype, most signs are pointing to this being yet another unannounced device from Motorola. The Libertyville, Illinois-based tech giant recently teased an early August product event that’s believed to see the official introduction of its Android One smartphones, though it remains to be seen whether the newly sighted device also ends up being unveiled at the happening. The company’s next launch will take place on August 2, a week before Samsung debuts the Galaxy Note 9.
