A few details regarding the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Plus (2018) have been revealed after the firmware files of the upcoming budget smartphone became available. The firmware shows that the budget handset will likely sport an iris scanner for biometric authentication of the user. However, in a likely effort to reduce manufacturing costs, the handset will not include an infrared (IR) LED driver but it will instead use a standard flash LED. Samsung has been working to develop budget smartphones with integrated iris scanners as part of its efforts to eventually replace physical banks with mobile banking, and these devices will likely be launched as early as the latter part of 2018.
