Not a single company has released a fully bezel-less smartphone thus far, but we’ve seen quite a few concept designs that show off such a device, like the all-new Samsung Galaxy X concept that the ‘Science and Knowledge’ YouTube channel just published, which is not exactly fully bezel-less, but it comes extremely close to it, closer than any real smartphone. That YouTube channel has published quite a few third-party concept designs, and the latest one is quite appealing in terms of the design, even though it’s still a bit unrealistic, as chances are we won’t see a fully bezel-less smartphone that soon.
This concept design has been shown off to the public in form of a video that has a duration of around three minutes, and it is embedded down below. As you can see, the Galaxy X concept smartphone has no bezel, at all, its display is curved on the sides, and an in-display fingerprint scanner has been included in this imaginary smartphone. The device seems to be made out of metal and glass, while three cameras are included on the back of the phone. A power / lock button is located on the right, while the volume up, down and Bixby buttons can be found on the left. Along with the design itself, the source also imagined some specs for this phone. This imaginary smartphone features Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 both on its front and back sides, while its cameras on the back do not protrude at all, not to mention that a 3.5mm headphone jack is included on the bottom of the device.
The phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while it sports a 6-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440) Super AMOLED Infinity display, and a 99-percent screen to body ratio. The only thing ‘breaking’ the design, and keeping this phone from a 100-percent screen-to-body ratio is an earpiece at the top. Android 9.0 (aka Android P) comes pre-installed on the device, while an imaginary Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC fuels this device. The device includes 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of internal storage. 19, 16 and 8-megapixel cameras are included on the back, while a single 16-megapixel camera sits on the front side of the phone. That is more or less it, this concept phone is clearly inspired by the company’s Galaxy S9 series, and it remains to be seen if Samsung ever ends up releasing a phone that is similar to this concept device.
