Google has just announced that it’s rolling out a new Google Assistant feature called ‘Visual Snapshot’. Now, this is essentially a new visual feed, rather than anything else, and it actually reminds us of the old Google Now feed a bit, by sheer looks of it. This feed is expected to show you what your day will look like, basically, at least according to the info that the company released in its official press release.
In case you’re wondering what will be shown in the ‘Visual Snapshot’, well, you can expect to see traffic, calendar events for that day, bill notifications, alert for your packages, information regarding a hotel you reserved, restaurant reservations… and so on. The company has announced that this feature will be rolling out over the next week, so within a week, all of you will probably have access to it. Google will probably continue adding features to the Visual Snapshot as time passes by, even though it’s filled with info as we speak. One of the first new features that will arrive to the Visual Snapshot, and is still not available, are your notes and lists from Google Keep, Todoist, Any.do… and so on, which is something that the company also confirmed.
The company is also planning to add a new ‘discovery’ section within Visual Snapshot, which will help you find things to do nearby, will send you parking reminders, and personalized recommendations for music and podcasts. This new feature is coming to both Android and iOS, and you can access it by firing up the Google Assistant, and then looking for a new blue icon in the top right corner of your display, as shown in the provided GIF image down below. We’ve included several images that Google released in the gallery, so you can take a closer look at the Visual Snapshot if you’d like.
