Huawei Reveals Which Phones Will Get 'GPU Turbo' And When

Huawei has announced its ‘GPU Turbo’ technology along with the announcement of the Honor Play smartphone quite recently, and the company has just shared the rollout timeline for that technology. It seems like GPU Turbo will be coming to quite a few Huawei and Honor smartphones, and for those of you who do not know, GPU Turbo increases device performance by 60 percent, while it also reduces power by 30 percent, according to the company. This technology can be enabled via an over-the-air (OTA) update, and if you’re interested to see if your phone will get it, read on.

The company not only shared which smartphones will get the update, but also listed which regions will get it and when, in other words, if a smartphone has been purchased in one of the markets listed to it, chances are it will get the update. So, for example, the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro flagships will get the update in August this year, and will be amongst the first to get it. The regions listed next to those two smartphones are Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. The Huawei P20 Lite will get it in September, and it will arrive for units in Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. The Honor 10 will receive the update in August, same as the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, and the update will arrive in Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific, India, and the Middle East. Other Huawei devices that will get the update are the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 RS Porsche Edition, P Smart, Nova 2i, Mate 10 Lite, Y9 2018, Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, P10 Plus, and the P10. As far Honor branded phones are concerned, other than the Honor 10, the following phones will get it: the Honor 9 Lite, V10, 7X, 8 Pro, and the Honor 9.
