Microsoft Launcher Gets New Features & UI Improvements

Microsoft has just released a new update for its ‘Microsoft Launcher’ app for Android, and this update actually brings quite a few features and improvements to the table. All of these features and improvements have been included in the beta update to this app which was released last month, so you’ll be quite familiar with the changes if you’ve read about it or have the beta version installed on your device.

If you’re using the Microsoft Edge browser on your Android smartphone by any chance, and also use Microsoft Launcher, the launcher will bring some improvements to reading news articles using that browser. A rather interesting feature for parents have also been added to the launcher, you can now show / hide kids in the Family card. Cortana now supports multi-turn SMS+calling, while you can also hide the page indicator on the Microsoft Launcher’s home screen if you want now. Microsoft has also added a number of UI improvements with this update, welcome page, settings page, widgets and the context menu have all been improved. On top of everything we’ve mentioned, support for removing screens in overview mode via drag and drop has also been added.

Those are pretty much all the features that Microsoft listed, though on top of everything, the company also further polished the app in the backend, and removed some bugs and what not. This update is already rolling out to Android users, though do keep in mind that the update may not be available for your device straight away, as we’re looking at a staged rollout here, as is the case with other apps, but you will get the update within a day or two if you haven’t already. The Microsoft Launcher has been downloaded over 10 million times thus far, and it’s currently holding a 4.6-star rating in the Play Store, so if you’re looking for a launcher alternative, this one may be worth checking out.
