We’ve been seeing quite a few third-party concept smartphone designs pop up online lately, and the latest one is the ‘Nokia Edge 2019’. This concept surfaced on the Science and Knowledge YouTube channel, and it shows off a phone with almost no bezel. This handset does have a really thin ‘forehead’ above the display, but other than that, it’s bezel-free. The device is using on-screen buttons (which quite a bit of free space between them), and the design overall is rather interesting.
The Nokia Edge 2019 concept is made out of metal and glass, like most modern smartphones out there. All the physical buttons are included on the right-hand side of the phone, while a SIM card tray is accessible from the left. A 3.5mm headphone jack sits at the very top of the device, while you will find a dual camera setup on the back of this phone. Those two cameras are vertically-aligned, while an LED flash sits below them. A fingerprint scanner is also placed on the back of this phone, and the device sports a 5.8-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440) Super AMOLED Infinity display. The Nokia Edge 2019 is also IP68-certified for water and dust resistance, and the designer envisioned Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 on both the phone’s front and back sides.
Android P aka Android 9.0 comes pre-installed on this imaginary smartphone, while the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor fuels it. The phone was envisioned in three variants, with 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM, and those three RAM variants come with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB of expandable storage, respectively. 23 and 19-megapixel cameras are envisioned for the back of the device, while a 19-megapixel camera sits on the front side of the phone. A Type-C USB port is located on the bottom of the phone, while a 3,950mAh battery is also included in the package, along with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.
