A Rose Gold variant of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch emerged online earlier today, having been discovered as part of a premature listing published by the South Korean tech giant. The product page itself has been incomplete and clearly went live by accident, having only shown the image of the device that can be seen above alongside its model number, albeit without disclosing its technical specifications. The page was live for only a short while, having been discovered on the official website of Samsung’s U.S. branch, listing a product bearing the model number SM-R810NZDAXAR.
The identifier in question isn’t a perfect match for a number of certificates believed to be belonging to Galaxy Watch-series devices that the Federal Communications Commission published last week, but the prematurely published page still confirms Samsung’s next lineup of smartwatches will be known as the SM-R800 family. The Rose Gold variant of the device spotted online was listed as coming with a 42mm band, having been displayed on the company’s product page alongside the 2017 Gear Sport, 2016 Gear S3 series, and the 2015 Gear S2 line.
Samsung’s next Tizen OS device is expected to deliver a major upgrade in the battery department compared to its predecessor, in addition to shipping with support for Bixby which is likely to allow users to control their smart home gadgets and smartphones by simply speaking to their wrists. The wearable is also understood to feature wireless charging capabilities and IP68-rated elements resistance, as well as a Super AMOLED display panel and a rotating crown. At least two models from the upcoming product family should have LTE capabilities, with Samsung being expected to officially announce all of them no later than late August, likely as part of its IFA 2018 conference. The smartwatches are hence also rumored to be showcased at the Berlin-based trade show before being released globally come early fall.
