Samsung will be offering five color variants of the Galaxy Note 9 at launch, Dutch tech blog GalaxyClub reports, citing no specific sources but presumably referring to the storefront of online retailer MyTrendyPhone which recently listed a handful of versions of a stylus carrying the model number EJ-PN960 which is assumed to be the new S Pen set to be bundled with the upcoming Android flagship. The listings that can be seen below don’t come with any images attached but are believed to reveal the official color variants of the Galaxy Note 9 seeing how all previous generations of the stylus-equipped phablets and their S Pens had matching colors.
The storefront indicates the arrival of a Black, Grey, Violet, Blue, and Brown version of the flagship, which is in line with most recent reports about the device. At least three of the new colors likely aren’t new, with industry insiders previously suggesting Samsung’s Midnight Black and Lilac Purple finishes will both be making a return with the Galaxy Note 9, as well as one of Titanium Gray and Orchid Gray. While the Coral Blue color proved to be a popular choice among Samsung’s customers in recent years, the blue variant of the Galaxy Note 9 may be somewhat darker than that particular finish, according to recent rumors. The final version of the handset is said to be called “Teddy Brown,” as one insider claimed this spring.
The only inconsistency between the latest leak and what’s currently known about the Galaxy Note 9 is the fact that Samsung’s own teaser for its August 9 launch event shows what appears to be a yellow gold S Pen. While the South Korean tech giant is no stranger to combining its high-end Android smartphones with gold hues, such an aggressively bright shade of gold never appeared on any of its products and it’s still unclear whether that will actually be the case this time around.
