The first known real-life image showing a Deep Sea Blue variant of the Galaxy Note 9 leaked online earlier today, having emerged on Instagram. The photograph that can be seen above is clearly of a pre-production unit, revealing a handset with a warning label that unsuccessfully attempted preventing it from being leaked. The new color option appears to be slightly darker than the Coral Blue one that Samsung commercialized with most of its Android flagships released since the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7, though its finish is still glossy. The same variant of the handset was already spotted in a number of product renders but it wasn’t until today, a day before the smartphone’s scheduled announcement, that industry insiders managed to deliver a glimpse at the actual device.
Deep Sea Blue is said to be one of four or five color options encompassed by the Galaxy Note 9 lineup, with other variants being Midnight Black, Lilac Purple, and Teddy Brown. A gray version of the phablet was also said to have been on the cards at some point in the past but one recent rumor suggested that particular model ended up being canceled for unknown reasons. The latest leak also serves as yet another confirmation that the Galaxy Note 9 uses a dual-camera setup on the back, with the solution supposedly featuring the same hardware as the one included on the rear panel of the Galaxy S9 Plus.
Consumers can hence expect two 12-megapixel sensors, one with an f/2.4 lens, and another one capable of switching between f/1.5 and f/2.4 for more versatility. Super slow-motion recording at 960 frames per second should still be part of the package, whereas the fingerprint reader now sits below the camera setup instead of being positioned to its right, as is the case with the rear plate of the Galaxy S9-series handsets. Following its Thursday announcement, Samsung‘s Galaxy Note 9 should begin retailing on a global level from August 24.
