Facebook has announced a number of improvements to its social media platform that could help businesses grow by connecting with consumers. The social media giant noted that around 80 million local businesses use the free tools that Facebook offers to drive transactions and communicate better with their customers. The social media giant introduced a number of improvements to the Pages, a feature that is commonly used by local entrepreneurs, that make it easier for consumers to post a recommendation and book an appointment. For example, satisfied customers may now post recommendations directly on the Facebook page of a shop or a restaurant, and these recommendations could include text, photographs, and tags. On the other hand, businesses can now choose the appropriate action button and Page template for their Facebook page. Action buttons permit customers to more easily message a business, book an appointment, order food items, or write recommendations by tapping or clicking on the button.
Businesses can also customize the information that appears on their Facebook pages and they can choose to feature their business hours, price range, or restaurant menu. Meanwhile, customers may now access Facebook stories of the business by simply tapping on the profile picture of the shops’ pages. The Page Stories enables local businesses to connect with their customers by showcasing the people that run the business. Aside from the improvements made to Pages, organizations can now sell tickets directly on Facebook Events, and within the next few months, more businesses can take advantage of Facebook’s job application tool. Furthermore, on the part of consumers, they may now see the shops recommended by other customers and the events that their friends will attend in the local section of the Facebook app or using the standalone Facebook Local app.
Within the last few months, Facebook has been adding a number of features across its social media and messaging platforms that make it easier for entrepreneurs to conduct their business and reach out to consumers. For example, Facebook Messenger can translate Spanish messages to English using the chat application’s AI assistant, M, and the social media giant also recently introduced the Brand Collabs Manager, which permits brands to collaborate with content creators that cater to a specific demographic.
