OnePlus has announced that it will fix the OnePlus 6’s screen flickering issue in an upcoming update. Users have been complaining about this issue for a short time now, and it occurs under bright light, but only if ‘adaptive brightness’ option is turned on, which is probably why many users did not complain at all. In any case, OnePlus has been collecting data from users in order to amend this issue, and it seems like the company is already working on an update, and will be ready to release it in the near future.
Chances are that we will see this update rolled out to the Open Beta channel first, in form of a beta update, after which it will hit stable version of OxygenOS. Now, that fix will probably be rolled out along with August security patch for Android, and it remains to be seen if OnePlus plans to roll out any additional fixes in addition to that, or some new features perhaps, nothing is out of the question. OnePlus had rolled out quite a few updates for the OnePlus 6 since the phone got announced earlier this year, improving the device’s camera, adding new features, and so on. The OnePlus 6 has been available for purchase for quite some time in a number of markets around the world, and it will remain the company’s most powerful smartphone for a bit of time, at least until the company announces the OnePlus 6T later this year, probably in November… presuming that the device will become a reality at all.
The OnePlus 6 is made out of metal and glass, while it sports a 6.28-inch fullHD+ Optic AMOLED display. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, while it comes with a 3,300mAh non-removable battery, which supports OnePlus’ Dash Charge fast charging. Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the OnePlus 6, while on top of it you’ll find OnePlus’ OxygenOS skin. The phone includes two nano SIM card slots, and it ships with 16 and 20-megapixel cameras on its back, where its fingerprint scanner is located as well.
