Sound solution provider Jabra has brought no fewer than five new variations of its Elite 65t and Elite Active 65t true wireless earbuds with built-in digital assistant support to show at IFA Berlin 2018. Each of those is predominantly defined by its new color scheme but one of those is a completely new Amazon-exclusive. Although the original version of these earbuds featured support for all digital assistants out-of-the-box, as shown back at CES 2018, the Amazon Edition Elite Active 65t takes that a bit further. Designed in a very appropriate copper and black coloration, those allow users with access to Amazon Alexa on their connected devices – noted by Jabra as consumers in North America, UK, France, India, and Japan – now have direct control. With a single touch on the newly launched device, users will be connected immediately to Amazon Digital Music, Audible, and Prime Video as well as other Alexa functions.
Setting that aside, the other versions of Jabra’s Elite 65t aren’t being left out of the announcements either. To begin with, the Titanium Black themed version of the Elite Active 65t that was previously only available in the U.S. is going global. The other new color is an eye-catching Copper Red variation. That gives fitness-focused or active buyers, who might be interested in the Elite Active 65t’s integrated accelerometer and IP56 water resistant rating more options to suit their style. In the meantime, the Jabra Elite 65t will be available in Gold Beige and Copper Black. The latter color is the same as the exclusive Amazon Edition version but without the added features of the Elite Active 65t or direct Alexa integration. Pricing was not explicitly addressed in Jabra’s announcement and will presumably remain as it has been, hovering right around $190 for the more expensive version or $170 for the unruggedized variants.
In the meantime, the Elite 65t boasts a four-microphone technology for better quality in calls or voice interactions, in addition to optimizations on the connectivity side of the equation to help stay connected better. Aside from the features listed above, the pricier Elite Active 65t adds the ability to go approximately 5-hours between charges and the carry case provides up to a total of 15-hours of charges. They are also engineered to stay in place better thanks to a grip-enhancing coating. Each of the new variations on the original design has launched as of the announcement.
