Lenovo is building on its popular Star War: Jedi Challenges augmented reality game, by debuting a new Dark Side Expansion pack for the game, and a limited edition Kylo Ren lightsaber. The expansion pack is going to allow you to play as Kylo Ren, to duel Yoda, Rey and Luke. There are going to be three levels of difficulty here, and there is also a multiplayer mode of Jedi Challenges with Ship Battles. Lenovo is also touting that this is the third content update to Jedi Challenges in a single year. Showing that it is serious about adding more content to the game without forcing users to pay for a new version of the game. Which is definitely a change from other games that are available in 2018, which force you to pay for just about everything.
The Limited Edition Kylo Ren Lightsaber is a realistic replica to the Lightsaber that is used in Star Wars, so you can really feel like a Jedi with this limited edition lightsaber. It has a light at the top that will glow when playing – that also allows for accurate AR tracking when you are dueling in the game. There’s a power button at the bottom that will allow you to sync it with the headset. And of course, you have controls towards the top of the Lightsaber to use during the game. The Lightsaber is rechargeable as well.
The expansion pack for Star Wars: Jedi Challenges is going to be available for free, and will be available on October 1. The Limited Edition Kylo Ren Lightsaber will cost $99.99 and it’ll be available this winter. Lenovo isn’t giving a specific time-frame for releasing it, but it should be available before the holiday shopping season, as Star Wars: Jedi Challenges was a pretty popular product during the holiday season last year.
