OnePlus has just announced that a new update for the OnePlus 6 is rolling out, OxygenOS 5.1.11. This update brings a number of improvements and fixes to the device, which we’ll talk about in just a moment, but before we do, please do note that you won’t be able to download this update straight away using VPN, as you were able to do before, which is something OnePlus notes in its forum post. The company says that the update is not region-based, and that it is rolling out to a limited number of users who are randomly selected. The company is doing this in order to make sure that no additional bugs are included in the update before it starts rolling it out to everyone in a couple of days.
That being said, this update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA), and the first change that the company listed in its changelog regards the phone’s network connection, as OnePlus decided to optimize it. In addition to that, OnePlus also optimized stability for Wi-Fi connection, while the screen flickering issue that occurs in daylight has also been amended by the company. This is actually an issue that quite a few users have been complaining about, especially at really high brightness levels. General bug fixes and improvements have been listed by the company as well, while you can now confirm your pin number without tapping ‘✓’, says the company, which is a rather interesting change. On top of all that, OnePlus also tweaked the camera a bit, as the HDR mode has been improved.
The OnePlus 6 had received quite a few updates since it arrived back in May, and even though OxygenOS 5.1.11 does not bring any new important features to the table, it does bring quite a few fixes with it, not to mention the tweaked camera performance.
