Three upcoming budget-friendly Samsung devices will reportedly be available in at least one color configuration pulled the company’s Galaxy S8 flagship, according to the source. Namely, the Galaxy J4 Prime, Galaxy A9, and a suspected new member to its current Galaxy A8 lineup are now expected to ship with a ‘rose pink’ option. The latter of those is noted to be a Samsung Galaxy device with the model number ‘SM-A750F,’ and will supposedly ship in blue, black, and gold colors as well. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A9 bearing model number ‘SM-A920F’ will arrive in blue or black in addition to rose pink. Finally, the Galaxy J4 Prime is said to be in the works with additional black or gold variants.
In the meantime, Samsung has already launched the Galaxy A8, Galaxy A8 Plus, Galaxy A6, and Galaxy A6 Plus for 2018. So it isn’t immediately clear what the SM-A750 is going to be, aside from the model number being very close to the company’s A-series handsets. Bearing that in mind, recent reports have indicated that yet another A-series mobile is on the way with the model number SM-A730FN. That smartphone has cropped up in benchmarks featuring an in-house Exynos 7885 with 4GB of RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo. It seems likely at this point that the rumored device and the one arriving in rose pink will be the same handset. Conversely, the Galaxy J4 Prime is expected to arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo and, based on previously spotted benchmarks, to feature a Snapdragon 430 SoC and 2GB RAM. The Galaxy A9, on the other hand, is still a relatively well-guarded device and could be launched as either a 2018 or 2019-edition handset. If it launches as a 2019 model, it could bypass the ‘A9’ naming schema entirely and be marketed more simply as the Samsung A90.
Setting that aside, the new color configurations will almost certainly be welcome in the range of devices if the leak bears out. That’s because although pink tones have shown up in at least some Samsung devices before, the design aspect of mid-range and budget handsets is arguably among the most important determining factors for consumers shopping in that segment. More directly, handsets that are budget-oriented are typically more difficult to distinguish on the basis of performance and features alone. So having additional colors to choose from may be a deciding factor for some consumers.
