In Hollywhoot: Idle Hollywood Parody, you get to put the director’s cap on and make your own blockbuster movies. The mobile game allows you to direct all sorts of different genres of movies, as well as bring in some of the biggest stars to your projects. Hollywhoot has over 40 actors and actresses, which are parodies of real-life Hollywood legends. It’s similar to those “tycoon” games wherein you are building a city, an airport, or a store, but in this game, you are building your own movie studios, and making movies to bring in revenue to build and expand those studios, as well as expand your cast.
When you first open up the game, it may take a few minutes to get things started and loaded up, but once you get started, the game will walk you through all of the essentials. This includes putting in your name – which then becomes the name of the character you are controlling. From there you will begin by building your first movie studio. Once you’ve built your first studio, you’ll be able to create your first movie. These movies take just a minute or two to create – of course the time will get longer the more you advance, as is the case with any game. Once the movie is finished, you will create your check, and this money is used to upgrade different things.
Most movies, at least in the beginning, will pay a few thousand each. The more movies you make, the faster you can level up, and this will unlock talent spots. After you’ve unlocked a talent spot, and hire a new talent, you have the ability to upgrade their physical, charisma and acting. Upgrading these means better movies which net more money.
Once you have unlocked a second talent, you can then create movies with either of the talents in your cast. Or you can use them both, which will net even more money from each movie created. For instance, a movie with Evankov Grey and Chow Beckman would net you almost 13K, while one with just Evankov Grey would net around 6K.
The game is actually pretty fun to play, especially since these are all parodies of “legendary” actors, and the game is going to take quite a while to actually finish. The graphics in this game are pretty good, they aren’t too heavy, so even mid-range phones can handle them quite nicely. The game is free here is free, but there are in-app purchases, which range from $1.99 up to $49.99. There are no ads within the game, so this is how the developer is making money off of the Hollywhoot: Idle Hollywood Parody here.
One of the drawbacks on this game is the fact that there is no way to save your progress. It doesn’t tie in with Google Play Games at all, which means that if you do need to factory reset your phone or uninstall and reinstall the app for any reason, you’ll be starting back over from the beginning, which is not ideal.

- Nice graphics

Cons

Hollywhoot is going to be a pretty addictive game, it’s one of those casual titles that you can play when you’re sitting in a doctor’s office or anywhere waiting and need something to kill time. It’s a fun game to play, especially with all of the different parodies of celebrities that are included. The size of the game is pretty small, as well (varies by device, but for us, it came in at 122MB), so it’s a good game to keep on your phone and play whenever you are just sitting around waiting for something. You can pick up Hollywhoot: Idle Hollywood Parody from Google Play using the link below. Remember that it is free to download, with optional in-app purchases available.
