Sprint has announced that it will start selling the newly announced, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, beginning on August 24. It’ll start out as available online only, and then be available in stores starting September 14. Pricing has not yet been announced, but expect it to cost a bit more than the WiFi only model of the Galaxy Tab S4 that is priced at $649. It wouldn’t be too unreasonable to see this selling at $800.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 debuted last week, as the company’s latest flagship tablet. It sports a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD resolution, powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage inside. The Galaxy Tab S4 does have some pretty good speakers on-board, and these are tuned by AKG. Which isn’t surprising, given the fact that Samsung did purchase Harman almost two years ago. So it makes sense to leverage their audio expertise in its mobile products. Samsung is targeting productivity with the Galaxy Tab S4, and has also launched a keyboard accessory – which does not come with the tablet, and is instead sold separately. It has also included a desktop mode, that makes it easier to use Android as a desktop replacement when you’re on the go. This is also why Samsung is offering the tablet in 64GB or 128GB storage variants.
Samsung’s latest tablet is a pretty good looking tablet, to say the least. It does keep up with the latest design cues that Samsung has used in both smartphones and tablets. Though the biggest difference between the Galaxy Tab S3 and S4 – as far as design goes – is the missing home button. Which also means there’s no fingerprint sensor here. Otherwise, it’s another high-end tablet from Samsung, and it’ll likely sell somewhat decently. Though with tablets having trouble selling in recent years, one has to wonder how well this one will sell with an even higher price tag. But Sprint will have it available beginning on August 24, for those that are interested in buying one.
