The nation’s third-largest wireless carrier, T-Mobile, announced a new unlimited data plan today. It’s T-Mobile Essentials, and it provides the essentials at the lowest price currently available for an unlimited plan in the US. That’s just $30 per month for a family of four. For a single line, it’ll be $60, then $30 for the second line. Lines three through six are $20 each. Now one of the main differences here is that taxes and fees are not included, like they are on T-Mobile ONE.
T-Mobile Essentials offers just unlimited talk, text and data. So you won’t be getting a free hour of GoGo Inflight Internet and Texting, nor unlimited International roaming when you travel abroad, or any of the other benefits that T-Mobile One offers right now. Seeing as T-Mobile Essentials is much cheaper than T-Mobile One, this is a great plan for those that don’t want any of those extras that T-Mobile has added to its ONE plan. You also still get the same amount of data before getting throttled, which is about 50GB per month. Though, even then you are pretty unlikely to get throttled, unless you’re in a very busy area.
T-Mobile is listening to its customers again and offering a plan that its customers are asking for. Which is a cheaper plan that still provides unlimited data. For a total of $120 per month for four lines, that’s not a bad price at all. However, the difference in pricing between T-Mobile Essentials and ONE is even less when you consider the fact that Essentials doesn’t include taxes and fees. On top of that, if you don’t use Autopay, you’ll be paying an additional $5 per month on each line, which can really add up. T-Mobile says that this new plan will be available beginning on August 10, and you can sign up for T-Mobile Essentials on T-Mobile’s website, calling T-Mobile, or visiting your local T-Mobile store.
