TOKYO GHOUL [:re birth] Is Up For Pre-Registration

Namco Bandai is bringing Tokyo Ghoul :re to Android in the form of TOKYO GHOUL [:re birth], a dual-mode action RPG that sees players fighting their way through the original Tokyo Ghoul storyline, leading all the way up to the emergence of CCG Investigator Haise Sasaki and the currently progressing story of Tokyo Ghoul :re. Fans on both sides of the fence will find a lot to love here, as they can play as both ghouls and humans in front-oriented 3D battles in classic RPG style, as well as 2.5D action battles. The game is up for pre-registration right now, and hitting the Google Play link at the bottom of the article will get you Haise and Kaneki as playable characters once the game launches some time this Autumn.

Players will find themselves making alliances, claiming territory and beating down foes all across Tokyo’s 23 wards in a brutal war for survival. Ghoul and human harmony supporters need not apply; while you can build up teams of mixed species, the official story in the game thus far is one of ghouls and humans tearing each other down in a struggle that will almost certainly end with one side or the other being wiped from existence. In fighting this war, players will bust out their best moves against both computerized opponents and other players in heated real-time battles. New characters and events will be added over time as the story progresses, making this game one of a rare breed of anime tie-in games that can actually be used to keep up with the ongoing storyline if you can’t read the manga or watch the anime for whatever reason.

Currently, Tokyo Ghoul fans can get their fix from Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War, a 3D action RPG that covers the first two seasons of the anime, being the story of Ken Kaneki and the struggles he winds up involved in once he’s swept up in the ghoul world. The game is a level-based dungeon crawler, akin to Bleach Brave Souls. This game will be only the second official mobile game in the Play Store to represent the Tokyo Ghoul franchise.
