Toshiba Partners With Onkyo On "Bazooka TV" Concept – IFA 2018

Toshiba showed off a new concept TV at IFA 2018 today, which it is calling the “Bazooka TV”. And now, it’s not because it looks like a Bazooka. This TV was built with Onkyo’s team, so you can expect some great audio experience out of this one, which is exactly why Toshiba partnered with them. This concept is a way for Toshiba to push the boundaries of audio design, and it makes this 55-inch 4K HDR TV capable of providing some of the most immersive audio performances currently available.

This concept from Toshiba has a subwoofer and tweeter box that is located behind the TV, to provide some great sound quality, without sacrificing any screen real estate and keeping the bezels pretty minimal here. The subwoofer is actually tube-shaped, and has an internal amplifier, combine that with no corners to trap sound, it will outperform most other subwoofers on the market. This is because it has deeper, resounding sound. This sound system that is built into the TV is going to bring every movie scene to life, with more realistic sound. Now this sound system is not just for watching TV, it works as a regular sound system as well, so you can play music on it, for a party, and even do some karaoke with it.

It’s not enough to just have really good sounding audio, Toshiba also allows the user to tweak and adjust the sound, according to what they are watching. This is important, because you may want more bass when watching something like an action movie (to really hear all of those explosions), but you may not want that much bass when watching talk shows. So the Bazooka TV comes with a dedicated bass button on its remote control. This is going to allow you to adjust the bass level as you wish. Bazooka TV also has a variety of settings, which are all designed to optimize the audio performance across different types of entertainment. Toshiba is promising life-like audio with this TV, so that no matter where you are sitting in relation to the TV, you are going to hear it, and the audio quality won’t be impacted whether you are in the middle of the TV, or to the left of it.

This is a 4K HDR TV from Toshiba, so along with that incredible audio experience, you are also going to get a great picture experience here. This is 4K with HDR10 included. That means that all of the colors are going to be super rich, and really stand out on this TV. Now this is a concept TV, so Toshiba is not announcing any pricing or availability for this TV yet. This is simply announced to show off what Toshiba can do with a TV and a great audio partner like Onkyo.
