VAVA has just introduced its first smart home security camera, the Home Cam. This is a wire-free security camera, so you’ll be able to put it anywhere you’d like and not have to worry about running wires to that location. VAVA built the Home Cam after speaking with hundreds of users that are also homeowners, and is providing the features that its users want, including long battery life, two-way audio, 1080p HD video recording, and more.
The VAVA Home Cam is IP66 rated for weather-resistance. This means that you can put this camera outside, but you’ll want to keep it close to your home, as it does still need WiFi to connect. The battery life here is rated at a full year, according to VAVA. This will of course depend on how you use the camera and how much recording it does. Speaking of recording, it does record in 1080p resolution, and it also works in both day and night. Night-vision is rated for around 23-feet. That’s enough to see what’s going on, on your property and not much more. There is no internal storage here, but there is a micro SD card slot available for up to 128GB of storage. VAVA is not selling a cloud storage plan here, so you can keep all of your footage on your micro SD card. Finally, VAVA has a built-in alarm and two-way audio in the Home Cam here.
Most smart home cameras do use a wide-angle lens, so that it is able to get more in the shot. And that is the case here as well, featuring a 140-degree lens, that is going to cover the majority of your front yard and then some. Owners will be able to keep up with the Home Cam by using the VAVA app on iOS and Android. You can get notifications about what’s happening and when, as well as browse through your recordings. The VAVA Home Cam is going to be priced at $249. However, those that pre-order through Kickstarter can get it for just $149. You can find out more information at the link below.
