Crumbs App Turns Your Spare Change Into Cryptocurrency

In Short: Metallicus Inc. has just launched a new Android application called ‘Crumbs’. This is basically a cryptocurrency trading application which allows you to round up spare change from debit and credit card purchases, and put them into baskets of cryptocurrencies. On top of that, you can do some instant trading for over a dozen of cryptocurrencies. The company claims that full integration with its main peer-to-peer payments app, Metal Pay, is in its plans, and that such integration will allow its users to instantly transfer cryptocurrency and USB balances from one app to the other, as needed.

Background: Cryptocurrencies are all over the place at the moment, there are quite a few of them out there, and many applications have been released for trading with cryptocurrencies. Crumbs app is somewhat different, though, as it takes a whole different approach to things, and is aimed at a different type of cryptocurrency traders, seemingly less active ones. Crumbs is available to US residents in 34 states, for now, excluding AL, CT, GA, HI, ID, IL, KS, NC, NM, OR, PA, NY, TX, VA, WA. Crumbs, a company behind this app, had been acquired by Metallicus Inc. back in June this year, in case you were wondering why the app is called ‘Crumbs’.

Impact: This is a somewhat different cryptocurrency app, as it allows you to turn your spare change into cryptocurrency, so you can do that on the down-low, without too much fuss. Once you link your bank account, you can select a portfolio that suits you, no matter if you prefer a more aggressive approach or not. Crumbs will calculate your spare change (made on regular purchases), and once that amount hits $5, the app will invest it into cryptocurrency of your choice. There are some additional options inside of this app, of course, and the app is quite simple and straightforward when it comes to the design.
