New Beta Update Brings Various Fixes To The OnePlus 5 & 5T

Following the release of Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS Open Beta 2 build release for the OnePlus 6, OnePlus has released a new beta update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. We’re looking at OxygenOS Open Beta 18 build for the OnePlus 5, and Open Beta 16 build for the OnePlus 5T. Having said that, the company did not add any new features with this build, but quite a few features were issued.

In the official changelog, OnePlus mentioned that it has fixed beauty mode, and that applies to photos shot with rear cameras as well. That’s not the only camera-related fix OnePlus issued, the company also improved the stability of portrait mode for the front-facing camera on the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. If you’re using OnePlus’ Weather app, you’ll be glad to know that the stability of that app has been improved as well with this update. The last entry in the company’s official changelog states that general bug fixes and improvements were also issued with this update for both devices. In its forum post, OnePlus warns that this build is not as stable as a beta build, of course, and the company also asked consumers to help out if they install this update, and report bugs via bug forums, or via its Feedback tool which is integrated into the Community app.

If you’re running a stable build of OxygenOS on your OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T, you’ll need to manually flash this Open Beta update on your device. If not, the update will come to you OTA (Over-the-Air). Do keep in mind that returning back to a stable build of OxygenOS will require you to flash that ROM manually, which will delete all of your data and cache, so do not install any beta software if you do not know exactly what you’re doing. More info regarding installation you can find in the source link down below.
