PixFood App Suggests Recipes Based On Ingredient Photos

PixFood is a new cooking application that hit the Google Play Store, and it’s quite different than most other cooking apps out there. This app has one specific feature which represents the app as a whole, and that’s the ability to find recipes based on a picture you take. So, for example, you can take a picture of a chicken, and PixFood will find some recipes for you, in case you’re out of ideas.

The way it works is, when you fire up PixFood, you’ll be asked to take a picture of your ingredient, once you do that, the app will ask you to confirm what’s in an image, by offering you a number of options. So, for example, if you take a picture of a salmon, you will be asked to confirm it’s salmon, though ‘Fish’ will be an option for you as well. Once you do that, PixFood will locate recipe suggestions for you, and that’s it, you will be able to follow instructions in video format, which should make the whole process painless. The company says that it is using “an advanced photo recognition and complex machine learning” in order to find out what in the image that you took, and for finding the best recipes to show you based on that. On top of everything, the company also says that the app will get better the more you use it, as it will learn from you thanks to machine learning.

There are a ton of cooking apps out there, but this one functions in a completely different way, and if you’re one to wonder what to cook often, PixFood may be just the right app for you. Do keep in mind that this app seems to be region-based, at least or now, as it is not available in parts of Europe at least, which is something we can confirm, but the company did not really release any info regarding where the app is available exactly. Having said that, you can navigate to the app’s listing on the Play Store via the link down below, and see if you can download it or not.
