Samsung's Galaxy A6, J3, J7 & Tab A 10.5 Are Now Available

In short: Samsung recently announced a slew of new smartphones and a new tablet. Those are all available for purchase today. The Galaxy A6 is available for $359. While the Galaxy J3 (2018) is priced at $169 with the Galaxy J7 at $249.99. These are all coming to various carriers and while not all of them have been announced yet, these are all available at Sprint for the same price. The other product announced is the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 which is priced at $349 and is a decidedly mid-range option for those that are not interested in shelling out over $600 for the Galaxy Tab S4.

Background:Samsung does typically load up carriers and retailers with some mid-range and budget options, for those that don’t want too or can’t afford to pay $600 or more for its high-end devices. The Galaxy A6 smartphone is the highest-end of these three new smartphones. It sports a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy J3 is a much more affordable and low-end model, coming in at $169 with a 5-inch HD display here. The Galaxy J7 falls somewhere in between with a slightly higher-end spec-sheet but still under $250. Now the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is also a pretty decent offering from Samsung, coming in with a 10.5-inch LCD display. Samsung decided not to include an AMOLED display here, to keep the costs down. So you’re still getting a pretty decently specced device here, but with an LCD panel instead of an AMOLED.

Impact: This is going to bring some competition to those that are already in the mid-range space, like Motorola with its Moto G6 smartphone. Of course, that is always a good thing for customers, as that leads to more innovation, better specs and a lower price.
