As most of you probably already know, Google has announced that Inbox is going away, and with it, a really innovative and useful e-mail app. Inbox will be around until March 2019, and some of you have probably already started looking or an alternative app… well, we’ve chosen ten of our favorite e-mail applications, each of which is unique in its own regard, so if you’re on the lookout for a new app that will replace Inbox, at least to a degree, you may want to check out the list down below, and do keep in mind that those apps are not listed in any particular order.
Gmail
The first app on the list happens to be Gmail, another Google-made e-mail app which is, at the same time, a lot more popular than Inbox, as it’s more of a regular e-mail app, and it has been around for a long, long time. Most of you are probably quite familiar with Gmail, it’s a really reliable e-mail app which comes with quite a few features, and a clean design. All the regular e-mail features are included here, you can attach multiple accounts to this app, while you can also customize swipe gestures for e-mail threads.
Blue Mail
Blue Mail is a really popular e-mail app on the Play Store, it has over 5 million downloads, and plenty of features built-in. You can add multiple e-mail providers, including Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Office 365, and so on. This e-mail supports IMAP, POP3 + Exchange, while instant push notifications are also included in the package. Dark theme is available for this application, while the app comes with full support for Wear OS.
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Outlook is yet another really popular e-mail application, it comes from Microsoft, as its name says, and it offers support for multiple e-mail providers, including both Google and Yahoo, for example. Flat / clean design is included in this package, while this app comes with support for Microsoft’s app like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The calendar is also built into this application, and the app has a number of additional features built-in.
Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail supports Gmail, Outlook, AOL and Yahoo accounts, while you’ll also get 1,000GB of free cloud storage with this app, for your e-mail requirements. You can customize swipe actions in this application, similar to what Gmail has to offer, while Yahoo Mail comes with theme support as well. Yahoo Mail offers Google Drive and Dropbox integration, while a search function is built into this app as well.
myMail
the myMail app comes with support for Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, AOL, iCloud, Live, Exchange, and GMX, so you can basically attach any account you want to this app. This app offers a really clean design, while push notifications are supported, as is ActiveSync protocol. You can create your own e-mail signatures in myMail, while you can also filter your e-mail by unread, flagged or emails with attachments.
GO Mail
Go Mail is a highly customizable application that looks like a cross between Gmail and Yahoo Mail, in terms of the design, at least. This app supports various e-mail accounts, including Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Outlook, and so on. GO Mail comes with theme supports, while you can customize e-mail thread swipes as well. Search is built into this application, while the company says that more features are coming soon, including calendar support, category filters, and so on.
Aqua Mail
Aqua Mail is an e-mail application that reminds us a lot of Gmail app, when it comes to its design, at the very least. This application, unlike Gmail, supports a dark theme, though. Aqua Mail supports Gmail, Yahoo, Fast Mail, Apple, GMX, AOL, and more. Push notifications are supported by this application, while it also comes with several widgets you can use. On top of everything, themes are also supported by Aqua Mail.
Email TypeApp
Email TypeApp is an e-mail app that is filled with features. This app supports a number of e-mail providers, Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, and so on. The design of the app is very clean, while the dark mode is supported here, and the app’s UI is also somewhat customizable. This app comes with full Wear OS support, while it also supports themes, and account color coding, so that you always know what you’re looking at based on color.
ProtonMail
ProtonMail is a security and privacy-oriented e-mail app. ProtonMail offers end-to-end encryption, and is OpenPGP compatible. This app’s UI is quite simple and straightforward, while you can set timers for e-mails, and set them to self-destruct after they’ve been sent. Push notifications are supported by ProtonMail, while the app is completely free, and comes with all the usual e-mail features.
Newton Mail
Newton Mail is yet another e-mail app which offers clean UI and supports various e-mail providers, while it comes with Wear OS support as well. It is worth noting, though, that Newton Mail is a subscription-based application, though you do get a 14-day trial before you’re asked to pay $9.99 a month to use its services. There are a ton of features packed into this app, though the question remains, are you willing to pay for using this app or not.
