Motorola quietly started selling a slightly updated Moto X4 a few weeks ago, on its website. The updated Moto X4 sports more RAM and storage, 4GB and 64GB versus the 3GB and 32GB that it had been selling for about a year now. Today, Project Fi announced that the updated Moto X4 is now available on its website for purchase. The Moto X4 that Project Fi is selling is the Android One model, which is slightly different from the regular Moto X4, but barely.
The Moto X4 sports a 5.2-inch display, with a fingerprint sensor below the display. It also has Snapdragon 630 chipset under-the-hood, and now has slightly more RAM at 4GB and 64GB of storage. There is a micro SD card slot and it does support Adoptable Storage. Motorola has also included a 3000mAh capacity battery, that will keep your phone running all day long, and if not, there is Quick Charge 3.0 available too. Project Fi does offer the Moto X4 in both Super Black and Sterling Blue. However, the Super Black is only available in the 3GB/32GB configuration, and the Sterling Blue int he 4GB/64GB configuration. The updated Moto X4 is $50 more than the regular Moto X4, coming in at $299, which is currently discounted $150.
Project Fi has really made an effort this year to add more and more phones to its lineup. It has added a slew of new devices, including a few from LG which include the LG G7 ThinQ and LG V35 ThinQ, as well as the Moto G6. There’s also the Pixel and Pixel 2 line up of devices as well. But Project Fi has been making an effort to add more and give its users more choice when it comes to a Project Fi smartphone. The service itself has really improved recently, with talk and text still costing $20 per month and data being $10 per gigabyte, but once you hit 6GB, your bill will stay at $80, no matter how much more data you use. So you could theoretically use around 20GB of data and still pay $80.
