In Short: CPL (Customized Pixel Launcher) is a relatively new launcher available in the Google Play Store. This launcher is currently in version 1.10.5.4.1, and over 1,000 people downloaded it by now, while it’s holding a 4.9-star rating in the Play Store. This is basically a second-gen Pixel Launcher with a number of additional features baked into it. With the CPL launcher you’re getting grid controls, per-app controls on your home screen, gesture controls, themes, backup and restore options, and so much more.
Background: Customized Pixel Launcher (CPL) actually came to being as a fork of the Rootless Pixel Launcher, and the developer of that launcher, Amir Zaidi, actually added support for Google news feed and the ‘At a Glance’ widget to CPL, not to mention that he also fixed a lot of bugs in CPL launcher. Over time, Customized Pixel Launcher actually managed to become a separate project, and went in its own direction. Rootless Pixel Launcher actually made it to the Play Store as well, but it’s now called the Rootless Launcher, and it’s quite popular, actually. CPL launcher is basically the only app that ‘whataudoinghere’ released to the Play Store, not counting the ‘Donation for whatauodoinghere’ application which is also available, but that’s only an app via which you can support future developments by whatauodoinghere by donating some money.
Impact: There are a number of really compelling launchers available in the Google Play Store these days, Nova Launcher, Action Launcher, Rootless Launcher, Niagara Launcher, Smart Launcher, and so on. Each of those launchers has something unique to bring to the table, and the same goes for CPL launcher as well, as it has its own set of features, and it looks really nice as well, so if you’d like to try it out, you can download it from the link down below, while an image gallery is also included.
